Plassac, the magnificent Chāteau of the Duke of Epernon and the Comtes de Dampierre in the heart of the Charentes is famed for historic battles that were fought nearby and for its high-quality vineyard. For the last two centuries, the Comtes have been purveyors of Cognac to connoisseurs.

The magnificent 18th-century chāteau that has always been owned by the family of the Marquis de Dampierre provides the setting for the production of cognacs to suit every occasion:
The X.O. Chāteau de Plassac, aged for up to 15 years and maintaining the tradition of excellence, with its intense aroma, concentrated but subtle flavour, and rich, amber colour.
The Napoleon Chāteau de Plassac, assembled from nine-year-old cognacs. Lighter than the X.O., it has a mellow flavour and a deep, golden colour.

"It gives me great pleasure to introduce this quite exceptional Dampierre Cognac. Matured for 40 years in French oak before bottling, its quality is quite simply superb: its texture is silky smooth, its colour delicate, its aroma exquisite. Years of experience and expertise have gone into perfecting this cognac, which is absolutely unique: it comes from a single cask that was walled up in the chateau's cellars in 1940, to prevent it from falling into the hands of Rommel's occupying troops. Each of the 300 bottles of this limited edition is numbered, engraved and gilded, and comes in an elegant presentation case with a specially designed fine crystal decanter made by the house of Baccarat."

Pineau des Charentes "Château de Plassac"
Some 300 years ago a wine grower inadvertently poured grape juice into a barrel still containing cognac. One year later, the blend had matured into a delicious and sweet drink which was christened "Pineau des Charentes".

Aged in French oak, the Pineau produced at the Château is blended from the estate's cognac and a mixture of Ugniblanc and Colombard grapes. Those grapes give Plassac's pineau a floral aroma, refined and delicate taste and elegant colour fully in keeping with its provenance. To be served chilled.

Produced exclusively from the chāteau vineyard, these wines are true vins de pays at their best. Our youngest vines are 5 years old: the oldest, 40.
We pick the grapes early in October and age the wine in our 17th-century cellar before bottling it 10 months after fermentation. It is easy to drink and suitable for any occasion, from wedding parties to relaxing with friends.

Cognac XO Comte de Dampierre (20 years old)
For two hundred years, the Dampierre family seat in the heart of the Cognac country has produced a small amount of high quality cognac from its own vineyard, which was originally reserved for the family and sold privately to the French aristocracy. Now, for the first time, it is available to discerning buyers on the open market. Made from ugniblanc, folle blanche and semillon grapes blended and matured using traditional methods, it has a deep golden colour, subtle aroma and lingering taste. It is, without doubt, one of the finest X.O.s on the market, and with a production of only 4,400 bottles a year, it is also one of the rarest.
